2027 Membership Fees:
The following membership fees are applicable for the 2027 calendar year (coverage between January 1 to December 31 of the given year). Membership fees listed are annual, and include all membership fees (including CIP membership fees and professional liability insurance premiums where applicable / insurance coverage March to March) as well as applicable taxes (GST).
PIBC fees are pro-rated (50%) for new membership applications after July 1st (insurance fee is not pro-rated). Between October to December of each year we will not charge for the given year any longer (only the mandatory Liability Insurance Premium for the current year to be covered until Dec 31, depending on the membership category) and will ask for the upcoming yearly Fee in advance.
Note: Membership fees are due every January 2nd, or upon admission to membership, and are separate from any application, assessment, or other processing fees. Membership fees may be partially pro-rated for new members admitted part way through the first calendar year of membership.
Membership Fees are always for a member (1 person) and not for their current employer (company), although an employer may cover the annual payment.
Late Fees for Fee payment & CPL reporting will be assessed (see far below & PIBC Bylaws).
We do not allow memberships to be put on hold (no payment for a year / equal to resignation). Please check if you can apply for on leave status. The Renewal payment to PIBC is always due on January 2nd of the given Renewal year (late fees will apply for late payments). We do not allow for partial fees during the year. If this is normally covered by employer and the fees are not covered while you are on leave status: please check with your employer for reimbursement when you return to work (by forwarding your Renewal payment receipt to your employer).
Annual membership fees are non-refundable.
Initial annual membership fees for newly admitted members are due and payable upon admission to membership. Due to the federal Goods & Services Tax (GST) / Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and professional insurance requirements, total membership fees for certain members who live & work outside of the province of British Columbia or outside of Canada may vary from those listed here - please check with PIBC.
