Come learn about new tools and resources to support planners and practitioners working to support new affordable housing supply, the state of the community housing sector in British Columbia, and lessons and perspectives from the frontlines.

Heather Kauer


Heather Kauer RPP, MCIP (Moderator)
Heather Kauer, RPP, MCIP is the Director of Community Planning for the City of Abbotsford and has 25 years of municipal planning experience working with communities across Western Canada and Washington State. Heather also serves on PIBC's Housing Task Force, which provides strategic oversight of the Peer Learning Network.

 

Marina Jozipovic
Marina Jozipovic RPP, MCIP
Marina is a Senior Planner for Regional Planning & Housing Services at Metro Vancouver, currently advancing several major projects and initiatives, including Housing 2050: A Roadmap for Implementing Metro 2050’s Housing Goal, an update to Metro Vancouver’s 10-Year Plan, and the implementation of the Regional Model Policy for Inclusionary Housing. She brings a decade of experience working with communities across BC to advance evidence-based housing policy decisions. Marina enjoys teaching housing policy through the SFU City Program. 
 

Mikayla Tinsley


Mikayla Tinsley (Candidate Member)
Mikayla Tinsley, MCRP, is a Senior Policy and Planning Analyst in the Housing Policy and Planning team at Metro Vancouver. She is a Candidate member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is passionate about improving access to secure and affordable housing through data-driven housing policy.
 

 

Erika Sagert

Erika Sagert
Erika Sagert, MAP, is the Director of Sector Capacity at the BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA), where she leads initiatives that strengthen the capacity and resilience of British Columbia’s non-profit housing sector. BCNPHA is the industry umbrella agency that advocates on behalf of non-profit housing providers in BC, serving more than 500 members and a sector of 1,200 organizations.
 

Lilian Chau

 

Lilian Chau RPP, MCIP
Lilian is the CEO of Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society, one of Canada’s first women-led community housing organizations. Today, ENFHS manages a portfolio of 13 properties and has over 1500 new homes in construction and development in Metro Vancouver. She has over 20 years of experience in municipal and territorial planning, community engagement, affordable housing, and social finance. Lilian also serves as a Board Director with the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, the Law Foundation of BC and Hiyam Housing Society.

 

Timothy Luk


Timothy Luk JD, MCRP
Timothy Luk is a lawyer at Young, Anderson, a BC-based law firm focused on providing legal services to local government. Timothy has been practicing law since 2012 when he was originally called to the bar in Alberta before relocating to BC in 2016. Timothy’s practice focuses on land use regulation and development planning. Timothy also completed a master’s degree at UBC’s School of Regional and Community Planning.
