Innovative Housing Solutions Lab

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is launching a Regional Planning Lab Series to support regional collaboration, shared learning, and practical problem-solving.

This first lab is designed for planning, land-use, and housing staff from municipalities and First Nations within the Fraser Valley, as well as partners and professionals involved in the planning, policy, and delivery of market and non-market housing.

Lab participants will explore opportunities to increase the supply of affordable housing through mid- to high-density modular housing construction, with consideration of current markets, economic conditions, as well as as provincial and federal housing initiatives.

• Keynote presentation on modular housing and emerging trends
• Moderated panel discussion featuring practitioners and industry experts
• Examination of case studies, best practices, and learnings
• Exploration of challenges and opportunities for implementation
• Cross-jurisdictional networking and knowledge sharing

Participation from municipalities and First Nations within the FVRD will be prioritized. Planning, land-use, and housing professionals from outside the region are welcome to attend, space permitting.
