The provided time is in Mountain Time Zone.

The goal of this course is to help Planners understand and use basic GIS tools and resources in their planning work.

In this session you will learn:

Basic GIS data formats and functions;
A functional overview of Google Earth software and software options;
Public tools and dataset sources for GIS;
How to work with spatial data in Google Earth, iMapBC, and/or ArcGIS Online; and
How to produce simple thematic maps with Google Earth and iMapBC.

Drinks and snacks will be provided.

You will need a computer for this course and may bring your own laptop computer. If bringing your personal computer, please ensure you have Google Earth installed prior to start of the course. A limited number of desktop computers are available for use.

Attendance at the workshop qualifies for 4.0 (Organized and Structured) Learning Units for PIBC CPL.
