You are invited to attend the Sunshine Coast PIBC Chapter’s Annual General Meeting, Round Table Discussion and Social! Join us for an evening of chapter business, learning and networking. Meet other planning professionals in the area and share experiences.
AGM (5:00 pm to 5:15 pm)
The Sunshine Coast PIBC Chapter’s Annual General Meeting will be held at the Town of Gibsons Municipal Hall, located at 474 South Fletcher Road, Gibsons. The AGM will be chaired by the Chapter Member, Andrew Allen, and meeting minutes will be recorded by Katherine (Kasha) Janota-Bzowska. Specific items to be discussed at the AGM will be sent out to interested Chapter Members closer to the event date.
Round Table Discussion (5:15 pm to 5:45 pm)
We are pleased to host a round table discussion lead by two local BCLS Surveyors: Seamus Pope with Strait Land Surveying Inc., and Javier Siu with Bennett Land Surveying on the topic of natural boundary surveys. The questions that will be discussed throughout this portion of the event are as follows:
- What is a natural boundary?
- How does a survey crew identify it on-site?
- What is the obligation of a BCLS when identifying a natural boundary?
- What is the difference between plan and actual natural boundary – and what applies?
- What triggers a new natural boundary survey?
- What is the process and what will LTSA require?
Networking Social (6:00 pm onwards)
After the AGM has been conducted, and the round table discussion with our guest BCLS Surveyors concludes, we are inviting members and guests to join us at the Gibsons Tapworks Brewing Company (537 Cruice Lane) for catered appetizers and informal conversations with Planners and other industry professionals. Appetizers will be provided courtesy of PIBC.
