PIBC is committed to keeping members informed about the status of Members' Bill M216 - Professional Reliance Act. The bill, as proposed and if enacted, would change and impact the role of certain professionals and the review and processing of development applications by local governments in British Columbia.
On November 17, 2025, the bill passed the Second Reading in the Legislative Assembly of BC and was referred to the Select Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members' Bills.
The Select Standing Committee is now seeking input and comment on Bill M216. All input and comments for consideration by the Committee must be received by 3:00 PM PST on December 2, 2025.
