SFU DLOG708 - Shared Spaces: Foundations for Dialogue Between Indigenous and non-Indigenous People
SFU Continuing Studies
May 24th 2024
9:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST

This is a 2 day online course on May 24 and June 7, 2024.

While reconciliation and consultation are at the forefront of many sectors, there is an increasing need for a decolonizing approach. In this two-day online course, you'll deepen your understanding of how Indigenous/non-Indigenous histories impact engagement approaches with Indigenous people. As preparatory work, you'll examine the historical and contemporary social and structural contexts that inform the relationship. Through dialogic processes, you will gain insight into and strengthen your practice through awareness of the unique aspects of community and civic engagement that are involved in non-Indigenous people working with Indigenous people.

Limited space available. Click here or on the EVENT LINK below for full course details.
