About this Webinar
Housing Needs Reports (HNRs) describe current and anticipated housing needs in a community. Local governments and regional districts across BC must complete an interim HNR by January 1, 2025, in accordance with new provincial guidelines. The HNR must project housing need over 5 and 20 years.
This webinar explores the value and opportunity of HNRs as part of a broader housing and community planning policy discussion. The presentations will explore the lessons we can learn from HNRs, how housing development works in relation to planning activities, and how we can take collective action toward creating livable and sustainable communities.
Participants will have an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with the speakers. In the interest of time, we ask that participants submit up to two questions in advance of the webinar. The speakers will attempt to address as many questions as possible during their presentations and may be able to accommodate a small number of additional questions at the end of the session.
Please note this webinar is NOT covering the Province's HNR methodology or the BC HNR Calculator developed by HART. Click here to find information on the provincial methodology and tool.
