Park(ing) Day is an international movement that encourages the community to transform single use parking stalls into shared parkettes. It is a way to re-imagine community space within the urban context. The movement started in 2005 in San Francisco – the idea has sparked internationally. On September 20th parking stalls reserved for stationary cars will be enlivened around the world. 

Your creativity is welcomed! Follow the Guidelines to participate in Nanaimo’s 2019 Park(ing) Day. Your temporary park will need to meet all of the outlined requirements.
