As part of the implementation of the Building Act, the Provincial Government has been working to develop harmonized, consistent energy-efficiency standards that local governments could apply at a local level through bylaws and incentives. These standards are known as Stretch Codes. It is the Province’s intention to develop Stretch Codes that local governments could use once the Building Act comes into force in December 2017.
This webinar will provide an update on the Province’s process to date, including an overview of contemplated standards for different buildings, and what tools local government might use to implement Stretch Codes. The webinar will provide perspectives from stakeholders who have been involved in the development of the Stretch Code standards, including local government staff, developers, and utilities.
