November 23rd 2017
9:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST

Planning and development crosses multiple areas of legal practice — municipal, administrative, and real estate. In this course, we will tie all of these aspects together to give you a comprehensive understanding of planning and development. At this program you will learn about:

  • tools for fostering desirable developments such as permissive tax exemptions, partnering agreements, excess and extended services, and more
  • land sale, purchase, and exchange in the municipal context
  • planning considerations for long-term phased developments
  • nature of ephemeral land uses such as temporary uses, accessory uses, occasional uses and special events, seasonal uses, mobile uses, and more
  • impacts of sea level rise on coastal communities
  • judicial review and enforcement of development permits, development variance permits, board of variances and more

Who should attend: This course may be of interest to municipal officers, planners and developers. This course is designed for lawyers who practice in the area of municipal, real estate, administrative, and construction law
