Local Government planners working within the Capital Region are invited to participate in a hands-on, interactive workshop about the value of applying an equity perspective to land-use planning and other everyday decisions that local government planners face.

Guest Speakers: Equity and Planning Experts Heather Evans (MCIP, RPP) & Victoria Barr (UVIC School of Public Health & Social Policy)
Through this workshop participants will achieve professional development by:
- Exploring the relationship between health & social equity and local government planning;
- Discussing the barriers planners might face in applying equity principles to everyday planning activities;
- Working with peers to test-out an equity ‘tool’ against local planning case scenarios;
- Contributing to the development of an equity lens toolkit for local government planners; and
- Building and strengthening partnerships critical to enhancing community health and wellbeing.
