In order to address the increase in environmental assessments that local governments are facing, as well as to inform on changes at the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO), the EAO is pleased to offer a free webinar. The webinar is designed to address the issues relevant to elected officials, local government staff and other professionals working through the environmental assessment process in BC.
The webinar will be held on June 25th from 1:15-2:30 pm PST.
The webinar will outline the role of the Environmental Assessment Office, the process of engagement for local governments, and timelines for environmental assessments. Other topics will include:
- The memorandum of understanding on Substitution between the Province and the federal government (Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency)
- The role of advisory working groups in the process of environmental assessments
- BC’s approach to cumulative effects assessment
- The Minister of Environment’s review of the EAO
Time will be reserved at the end of the presentation for questions.
