With a vibrant Main Street and commercial retail market, Smithers offers many services and amenities normally only found in larger urban centres.
The Town of Smithers has a unionized opening in the Development Services department for a Planner. This position reports to the Director of Development Services and will provide professional Planning functions for the Town.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Undergraduate degree in Community Planning plus accredited course in community development, geographic information systems or equivalent.
- Member of, or eligible for, Planning Institute of British Columbia.
- Diploma in Planning Technology, rural community planning/sustainable design.
- 3 years municipal planning related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
