created in 1967 and is made up of two unincorporated electoral areas and the four member municipalities of Kelowna, West Kelowna,
Peachland, and Lake Country. The RDCO is a vibrant and resilient region characterized by interconnected urban centres, robust rural

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Planning, the Regional Planning Specialist provides development, long-range, and regional
professional planning services, including managing complex development applications, coordinating diverse planning initiatives,
analyzing data, liaising with partners, and project administration. In addition, this position oversees and provides direction to
department staW and consultants and is a key advisor for confidential policy development.


This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-centric planning and development professional with proven skills in local or regional
government planning. The successful candidate will be a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with eligibility for the Planning Institute
of BC and hold a post-graduate degree (in planning or related field). The preferred candidate will have expertise in environmental
development permits and experience in a community master plan/growth strategy. Demonstrated experience in modernizing systems
and streamlining internal processes within a planning department will be considered a strong asset.


The preferred candidate will have five (5) years of progressive experience in a local or regional government setting. The preferred
candidate will have supervisory experience with a focus on supporting teams’ growth, combined with change management experience
to enhance service delivery. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


The salary range for this position is $110,900 to $123,300, and it is supplemented by a competitive total compensation plan that
includes dental, health, and vision benefits, paid vacation, a pension plan, training and development, opportunities for advancement,
and work-life balance.
