Manager of Community Sustainability

Full Time Benefited Position

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is inviting applications for the position of Manager of Community Sustainability.

The manager works with other departments to monitor climate actions, support communities on wildfire risks and oversees the emergency management activities to ensure community preparedness, risk reduction and community resilience through collaborative processes, networking, common vision and an integration of ecological, social and economic values.

The candidate will be required to oversee Emergency Operations Activity (note that this is currently under review).

This position is based in Nelson, BC.

This is an exciting managerial role within our Development & Community Sustainability Department.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager of Community Sustainability advances climate change risk management and sustainability initiatives by leading a team that seeks to integrate climate change risk into actions, monitoring and reporting; and provides technical expertise on natural hazard risk identification, management and seeking opportunities to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of the region.

This is a permanent full time position. This benefitted position includes a competitive extended Health & Dental plan, Short and Long Term Disability, Life insurance, and enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan.

The normal annual entry salary for this position is $96,899.35 with a range from $92,686.41 to $105,325.40 based on 35 hours/week.
