"Creating Strategic Plans" Online Professional Development Course
September 28th - November 29th 2015
8:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST

This online course provides you with the knowledge and skills required to develop, implement, and evaluate a range of strategic plans that support a community’s cultural development.  All successful cultural development initiatives - including public art, facilities development, community grants, etc. should be informed by a strategic planning process that is inclusive, collaborative, and comprehensive. This course provides information, tools, and resources for those involved in a strategic planning process – as staff, as politicians, and as community members – and for those looking to participate effectively in such a process within their community or organization.

This includes:

-Understanding the purpose of strategic planning and a plan’s relationship to cultural policy and program

-Identifying key components of a successful plan

-Creating an evidence-based planning process that build on the facts and sets measurable indicators of success

-Creating an inclusive planning process that really engages internal and external parties

-Synthesizing your material into a coherent, strategic document

-Developing an implementation strategy that receives stakeholder approval

Registration fee: $800 CAN.
