PIBC Special General Meeting & Special Resolutions - Thank You!

Posting Date:
October 24, 2016 - November 25, 2016

We are pleased to notify members that the Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for Friday Nov. 25, 2016 in Vancouver was successfully held. A special thank you to all PIBC members who attended the meeting and participated. The purpose of the SGM was to consider two proposed Special Resolutions related to the Institute's required transition under and compliance with the new Societies Act of British Columbia, which came into effect as of November 28th, 2016.

The two Special Resolutions considered related to: the addition of a clause to the Institute's constitution to confirm the Institute's status as a member-funded society as provided for in the new Act; and a number of proposed amendments to the Institute's bylaws designed to ensure compliance with the new Act. We are pleased to report that both Special Resolutions were adopted unanimously by the membership at the Special General Meeting. Thank you!
