A Permanent, Full-time position of Planner I is available in Development Services. The role of a Planner I is to respond to a variety of public enquiries, make public presentations and assist in the preparation of reports and other materials relating to land use planning matters.  Experience in GIS mapping and Microsoft Office, the ability to work independently and having a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License are considered assets.  

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Community Planning (Urban, Regional, etc.) accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners; or an undergraduate degree in a subject related to planning (e.g. Geography) and a minimum of one year of work experience in a similar planning position; and meets eligibility requirements to be a member of the Planning Institute of British Columbia.
