The District is seeking a Director of Building and Planning to join our Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director leads the Building and Planning Department to ensure the effective delivery of current and long-range planning, land use approvals, heritage conservation and planning, building permit and inspection services and bylaw enforcement. In addition, as a member of the Leadership Team the Director lends his/her skills and experience to helping accomplish broader corporate and community activities. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate degree in Planning or a closely related field with a minimum of 6 years related management experience involving a broad range of management, operational and administrative responsibilities, preferably in a local government setting. Registration, or eligibility to register for membership in PIBC and/or the Canadian Institute of Planners is required.
