Join the City of Kelowna’s team as a term Transportation Planner and help to plan and design the City’s transportation system to best serve the public’s current and future transportation needs. 

 

As part of our Integrated Transportation Department, you will be responsible for complex analysis and research to support multi-modal transportation planning, projects, programs and initiatives.  You will develop and maintain the transportation analytics database and provide analysis and input into development applications.

 

The ideal candidate will have a University Degree in Planning or other related discipline with a specialization in Transportation, four years of transportation planning experience, good understanding of transportation modelling, advanced proficiency in GIS and a passion for public services; experience in transit service planning is a strong asset.  You are a strong communicator with excellent problem solving skills and have experience with project management within a multi-disciplinary team. To be considered for this position ideally you must be a registered professional planner and a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

 

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position and starts at $36.01 per hour with a 5 step progression to $41.46 per hour (based on a 35-hour work week) plus 14% in lieu of benefits, vacation, and statutory holidays*. Help Kelowna become the best mid-sized City in North America!   

  

*Please note, applicants that are not fully qualified at the Transportation Planner level may still be considered and hired as a Planner I (the 5-step pay progression starts at $32.44 to $37.45 per hour).
