Join our dynamic management team and address the timely, effective and consistent review of subdivision, agriculture, and environmental development applications. You will lead and supervise a team that makes recommendations to Council using the Official Community Plan, Agriculture Plan, Zoning Bylaw and related policy documents as your guide.

You are responsible for daily decisions that guide and influence the quality of development proposals in Kelowna. Primary focuses include hazard mitigation, and environmental, urban growth boundary, and agricultural land protection. As Subdivision Approving Officer, you hold the primary authority to approve/deny subdivision, stratification and building stratification applications in the City of Kelowna.

We seek a degree in Community or Regional Planning (or a related field) and management experience in a municipal setting. A thorough understanding of planning principles and methodology related to subdivision, agriculture and environment issues, and legislation applicable to the City of Kelowna. You have a proven track record of fostering strong working relationships with other levels of government and you are a skilled negotiator, clear communicator, confident decisionmaker and collaborative problemsolver.
