We are seeking to add a Mapping Technician 2 to join the City of Coquitlam, one of BC's Top Employers for 2018. As a member of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Services Department, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and application of department’s GIS resources and services.


You’ve worked in professional teams under tight deadlines researching, assembling and analyzing information and preparing maps, and are able to skillfully balance and prioritize competing demands.You require minimal supervision, possess a can-do attitude and are able to tackle geographic and associated data management challenges with competency.


If you’re passionate about GIS and are excited about applying GIS tools to assist with improving spatial data inventories, we would like you to bring your flair for GIS to help us support great municipal parks, recreation and cultural spaces and programs in the City. 


Your thorough knowledge of GIS software and applications is ideally demonstrated by having a diploma in GIS, plus sound related mapping experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Professional designation of GISP and/or ESRI certification(s) is considered an asset.  Love for all things parks, recreation, and culture is desired.


Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check and must possess a Driver’s License. The City of Coquitlam is offering an hour rate of $31.62- $37.23.
