The SCARP Planning Students' Association invites you to join us on February 7, 2014 for the 6th annual SCARP Student Symposium, "Embracing ComplexCity".

Come and explore ways to respond to the ‘wicked problems’ of the twentieth-century. These include environmental, social and economic challenges like climate change and demographic shifts. How can we work towards improving the resilience of our cities and regions in the face of uncertainty and complexity?

We’re excited to welcome our keynote speakers Andrew Weaver, Landsdowne Professor in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at University of Victoria and a lead author in the IPCC’s Climate Change 2007 report; Ann Maje Raider, Executive Director at Liard Aboriginal Women's Society; and John Friedmann, Honorary professor at SCARP, UBC and author of many publications including Planning in the Public Domain: From Knowledge to Action.

We’ve also partnered with the Planning Institute of British Columbia to offer 7.5 Organized/Structured CPD Learning Units to PIBC members.

Everyone is welcome but space is limited so register today!
