Barcelona's Bold Move to Reclaim Public Space
February 1, 2017 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
UBC Robson Square
800 Robson Street

Barcelona is world-renowned for its style, culture and vibrancy, but the city also faces excessive pollution and noise levels, and a lack of quality public space. As a result, the city has developed a new mobility plan to reduce traffic and turn streets into citizen spaces. Join Salvador Rueda for his discussion on Barcelona's ambitious mobility plan based on the creation of a series of superblocks - pocket neighbourhoods where traffic will flow around the perimeter and within which the streets will be repurposed to “fill the city with life.”Hosted by UBC Campus and Community Planning and UBC School of Community and Regional PlanningSponsored by Dialogue, Perkins + Will, UBC Robson SquareFor more information and to RSVP visit: http://planning.ubc.ca/barcelona%E2%80%99s-bold-move-reclaiming-public-space
