PIBC Vancouver Island-North Chapter

Earthquake Recovery Presentation with Angus Bargh
July 19, 2016 - 4:30pm - 5:30pm
RDN Offices
6300 Hammond Bay Road
Angus Bargh, the former Chief Transport Planner for the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority based in Christchurch, New Zealand, will be at the RDN from 4.30 pm in the Board Chambers on Tuesday July 19th to share his experience about the recovery process after the devastating earthquake of February 2011.

After the presentation there will be an informal social gathering at the Simon Holt from 5.30 pm onwards. This will provide an opportunity to meet Angus for those who may not be able to make the presentation. Please join us for this networking opportunity!

Following the transition of responsibilities from the authority to the Department of Prime Minister in April 2016, Angus has established his own professional practice and continues to provide advice to the recovery agencies.

Angus is on Vancouver Island and has reached out to PIBC as he would like an opportunity to share the recovery learnings from the last five years of Christchurch's journey. Please join us to hear about the many opportunities and challenges presented through disaster recovery.

Please RSVP at shorsburgh@rdn.bc.ca or hkauer@cvrd.bc.ca. We look forward to seeing PIBC members and anyone else that may be interested!
