Dear Okanagan-Interior Chapter Planners,

Just a friendly reminder about the chapter’s upcoming Annual Winter Social, AGM and Elections on Friday, March 6th.  

We are excited to announce that in addition to free food, Anthony Haddad, UBC Okanagan’s new Director of Campus Planning and Development will be speaking and therefore we will be able to provide you with 1 CPL credit.  Please remember, if you RSVP by Friday, February 27th, the event is free. 

With the upcoming elections, we are currently seeking nominations for positions for the 2015-2017 Chapter Executive.  As Chapter Executive, you will have a key voice in defining the priorities and training opportunities for the chapter.  It is also a great opportunity to network with other planners in the region and province wide.

Upcoming Winter Social & AGM:
Your local PIBC executive is throwing the chapter’s Annual Winter Social for PIBC members at 19 Okanagan Bar & Grill in West Kelowna on Friday, March 6, 2015. Click on the PDF poster link for details. 

There will be lots of delicious complimentary appetizers to go around and a cash bar for those looking for drinks.   Best of all, it’s FREE if you RSVP!  So, please join us for a chance to catch up with colleagues over some great food and delicious drinks.

On top of the social event, Anthony Haddad, UBC Okanagan’s new Director of Campus Planning and Development will be providing an update on the latest planning developments at UBCO (1 CPL credit) and there will be a brief business meeting to review the year’s accomplishments, meet our societal obligations and to elect the next chapter executive.  

We are hoping to see a large turnout as there are important discussions that will be taking place and we want everyone's input on the direction of the PIBC Okanagan-Interior Chapter and the upcoming 2016 PIBC Conference that is being held in Kelowna.

Upcoming Chapter Executive Elections:
The PIBC Okanagan-Interior Chapter is currently seeking nominees for election to positions for the 2015-2017 Chapter Executive.   Voting will occur during the AGM on March 6th. 

Please consider whether you wish to nominate one of your esteemed colleagues for an executive position, or whether you would like to stand for election yourself!  The executive will be made up of the following positions:

- Chair
- Secretary-Treasurer
- 5 Members at Large

Details on the responsibilities of the executive and the Chair/Secretary-Treasurer are provided in the attached Chapter Executive Backgrounder (Please see attached PDF below). 

If you’re interested or would like to nominate someone, please send an email to Paul Dupuis at Pdupuis@lakecountry.bc.ca.  If nominating someone, please cc the member in your email so they may accept or decline the nomination.  If you have a specific position in mind, please include this with the nomination.   Remember, as long as you’re a PIBC member residing in the Interior – Okanagan Chapter area, you are eligible for a position on the executive.
