This past spring, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing introduced the Community Lifecycle Infrastructure Costing (CLIC) Tool at PIBC’s 2018 Annual Conference in Victoria. Since then, the CLIC Tool has been applied in three British Columbia communities: Terrace, Fort St. John and Campbell River. This webinar will feature planners from these communities who will describe the application process and explain how understanding the infrastructure development, servicing, maintenance and renewal cost implications of different land use and development patterns in their communities can help inform development decisions in the face of increasing growth pressures.

The three case studies presented will explore:

  • How can planners better support sustainable asset and service delivery?
  • What is the implication of development on municipal finances?
  • How can the CLIC Tool inform planners in their land use decision-making?

Speakers:

  • Eric Dunford, Team Lead, Sustainable Development, Stantec
  • Lourette Swanepoel RPP, MCIP, ENV SP, Senior Associate, Stantec
  • Chris Osborne MRTPI, MCIP, RPP, Senior Planner, City of Campbell River
  • David C. Block RPP, MCIP, Director of Development Services & Approving Officer, City of Terrace
  • Renée Jamurat MCIP, RPP, Planning Manager, City of Fort St. John
