Urban Issues Film Festival
November 2nd 2018
4:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST
This is our planet. This is our home.Climate change affects us all!
On Friday, November 2nd, find out what you can do to help. The 13th Annual Urban Issues Film Festival at VIU will explore the topic “Resilience in the Face of Climate Change.” Join students, faculty and the public for a fun, interactive event on this important topic. The event will run from 4:30pm until 9:30pm at Building 356 in Room 109/111. This is a free event, including pizza and drinks.
Please pre-register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/13th-annual-urban-issues-film-festival-tickets-50802206768 so organizers can ensure there is enough food for everyone. A mix of short and longer films, and a local expert on climate change will inform our evening so that we can help create climate resilient cities. In this way,  we hope not only raise awareness but "be the change we wish to see in the world", by shifting the ways we create and consume.
If you are unable to make it on the 2nd, there will be a second showing of “Metamorphosis” on Wednesday, November 7th at 5:00 p.m. in Building 356, Room 109. The film-makers – Velcrow Ripper and Nova Amo – will be in attendance to discuss the film. They will be leading a workshop on the film the next night, November 8th, starting at 5:00 in the Royal Arbutus Room.
