In this course, you’ll learn about integrating ecological planning and sustainability into the urban design process. We’ll examine ecological planning through three themes: process, systems, and change.

You’ll develop your site evaluation skills using techniques that help uncover hidden assets in underlying natural resources. We’ll also explore concepts like net environmental gain and eco-economics using green and brown field case studies.

This year's theme "Corridors: Connecting BC's Communities" will look at communities outside the larger urban areas with the goal to understand that the diversity of these landscapes requires us to increasingly develop the techniques and tools of our profession.

The BCSLA Annual Conference is an opportunity for design professionals, practitioners, and key stakeholders, from the public and private sector, academia, and the community to come together to share ideas and projects.
