The Institute is governed by a Council of elected volunteers and consists of fourteen voting members, elected every two years. The Council is comprised of the President, the President-Elect, the Past President, eight Full, Fellow, or Retired Members, one Provisional Member representative, and three Student representatives (one from each Recognized Planning School/Program in B.C and the Yukon). The Council also appoints the other officers, committee chairs, and other volunteer representative positions of the Institute. The Council meets about five or six times each calendar year, in various locations around British Columbia and the Yukon.
