Retired Member
A Retired Member is a professional Full Member in good standing of the Institute who:
- Has a minimum of ten years professional experience as a Full Member of the Institute.
- Has attained age 55 (or older).
- Is fully retired from planning practice.
- Agrees to abide by the Institute’s bylaws & Code of Professional Conduct.
Retired Members are entitled to use the professional designation 'MCIP (Retired)' after their name. Retired Membership includes equivalent joint membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
IMPORTANT NOTE: As part of the Planning for the Future project PIBC, in cooperation with CIP and our affiliated professional planning associations across Canada, is in the midst of a major review and renewal of our Membership criteria, requirements and processes.
Substantial changes to the requirements for professional Membership and the process taken by membership applicants will result from this project.
