About the Awards Program

The Institute’s Awards program includes the following types of awards:

• Awards for Excellence in Planning  These awards honour the best in professional planning work undertaken by members in communities and regions across British Columbia and the Yukon in five categories: Research & New Directions in Planning; Excellence in Policy Planning - Small Town & Rural Areas, and City and Urban Areas; Excellence in Planning Practice - Small Town & Rural Areas, and City and Urban Areas. • Awards for Individual Achievement  These awards recognizes the efforts of individual PIBC members and is based on the impact of a nominee's work and personal commitment to planning and the effect that they have in their community and within the planning profession in three categories: Distinguished Professional Contribution; Leadership in Advocacy & Innovation; and Young Professional Leadership. 2012 Awards Program - Call for Submissions!

The Call for Submissions for the 2012 PIBC Awards program is now on! PIBC is seeking nominations and submissions for two types of awards. The deadline for submissions is: 4:00 PM - Mon. Mar. 12, 2012

Submissions for the Education Committee Student Fellowship Award are separate, and sought every year between November and January. 2011 PIBC Awards - Congratulations to the Winners!

The 2011 PIBC Awards winners were announced at the gala dinner and awards ceremony held on Thursday June 2, 2011 in Nanaimo, as part of the 2011 PIBC Annual Conference & AGM. The presentation of the awards was made by Awards Committee Chair Noha Sedky MCIP.
